On various Forum pages there is always talk of cars and locos that are desired in N scale. Mil. ribesides were a boxcar that were made in large numbers but has been made on a limited scale in N. Here are three that were made from Micro-train 40' boxcars:

Very Nice Marty! I want to make some of them in Z Scale. Maybe I can start with MT Z Scale boxcars? :D

    Marty-

Could you describe how you are aligning the "ribs?" (So that they come out nice and straight. :D ) And what you are using to make them?

    Boxcab and Robert
The rids are aligned with the ladder rails. I use a steel rule and lock it in place with finger clamps. The ribs are brass .008 rod. I use an x-acto to make the lines and then a scribe tool to deepen them.
Robert, I think you could do it in z. Just going to be small and you probably will need smaller wire for the ribs.

The late Gordon Odegard did a great article on how to build Milw ribbed box cars in "Milwaukee Road boxcars, horizontal ribbed sides" found in Model Railroader, September 1989 page 94
