Are they really out of production as all the suppliers are saying? I haven't got one yet! They just came out last month didn't they?
Who knows...I understand your fustration. Like I said before, I still haven't gotten my track that I ordered well before the official release date. Could it be that certain items just get gobbled up so fast that they never even make it to a local hobby store? Or maybe if your store doesn't buy lots of items they get shunned? Who knows...
I didn't get any either. It don't matter, as I'm sure they will do more, with different log loads. I had asked Joe D'Amato at the NTS, and he said they will do quite a few runs of them, with different log loads on each. -Robert
Joe, I guess I am lucky. My LHS is stocking all the MTL track, but they still dont have the log car yet. Maybe Your local hobby shop hasn't received their shipment of cars.
i've talked with several small dealers who have all reported that MT shorts them the stock they ordered. small shops sometimes get nothing -- even when they are on the automatic order system MT has. of course MT just laughs at the complaints because the greater the demand the more "collectable" the car! it's a crummy way to advance the hobby, i think. dave f.
My lhs had one too, but I din't want to swap out the couplers. Just received my geep, and keeping me busy. I am sure there are more log car to be bought, but the next release I waiting for is AZL's SD-70.
I had forgotten I had the Feather River Train Shop hold a couple for me, and while running at the GATS, Chuck from FRTS brought them over. He had 3 total, so I took them all. What I did find out from the Nn3 guys at the show is that the Nn3 modelers had snapped most of them up, as they look much better behind their loco's than an N Scale Standard Gauge w/Nn3 trucks on it does. Well, I really like them behind my Marklin Mogul, and i plan on getting some more the next time they are offered. I will probably stop at about 7 or 8, as that looks about right behind the Mogul. -Robert
Recently, I've seen the log cars on eBay, but the starting bids on most of them were well above MSRP. They all sold quickly, especially with "Buy It Now". Doug
It's almost time for MTL to come out with the October releases. I wonder if there will be more log cars in October? -Robert
