Mount Hood railroad sold to Chicago-based company Associated Press - April 8, 2008 2:05 PM ET HOOD RIVER, Ore. (AP) - The historic Mount Hood Railroad has been sold to a Chicago-based company. The sale price was not disclosed. The 102-year-old rail-line covers a 22-mile stretch of track between Hood River and Parkdale. It is a popular outing for tourists exploring the region's orchards, known as the "fruit loop." The railroad also operates year-round hauling freight. The railroad was sold to Permian Basin Railways, a Chicago-based subsidiary of Chicago-based Iowa Pacific Holdings.
Do you think the new company will fix the rail line past that damaged bridge towards the end of line? "Fruit Loop", thats a good one!:teeth:
I'm wondering what they'll do for freight customers? Surely they'd need to add one or two? Boxcab E50
