I've just about completed laying track for my first layout. Because I didn't have a big pot of money, I have over the past couple years purchased rolling stock and diesels with Rapido couplers. Now's the time to convert them to MTs (I do have some cars with MT and Accumate couplers and intend to keep the Accumates). I'm confused by the variety of couplers available on the MTL Web site. I realize there is no one size fits all coupler, but wonder if there is a coupler that would fit most of my cars and locos from various manufacturers or must I select a coupler for each? This list always answers my questions and I say thank you in advance for help with the conversation.

John, my rolling stock collections consists of a whopping 15 cars. It was a little more expensive, but I purchased a bulk pack of Microtrains trucks and just swapped over the entire truck. It only takes about 15 seconds to swap the trucks, your done. No gauge height to worry about, no frustration with the built up kind. Just a simply swap over.
Also, if you ever want to ebay a car or two, just simply throw your old rapido trucks back on 'em.

Most locomotives like Lifelike will take the #1015 as a drop in basically. Others may require a more specific coupler.
The site link below is to MicroTrains and you can find your recommended coupler by model manufacturer. You have two choices to open the database with. Excel or Adobe PDF. Depending on your computer and connection speed it may load slow or fast.
