I just rec'd the auto train I ordered. My son loves it. Of all the things to latch on to, he picked Amtrak phase III..... To me the coloring on the words Auto Train is very much faded. Before I complain, I just wanted to know if folks thought that was normal for MT and that I should expect to do touchup work. Thanks And then on a more fun note. How many MHCs, Auto trains and passenger cars would Amtrak run behind a single E8?
Those MT auto rack are nice but they are the wrong prototype for what Antrak has. The original AT racks were former CN racks which are shorted that the MT model. The new ones are Bi-Levels and are to modern for the MT model. They do have the correct AT paint though. The AT has run mostly behind GE powerlike P30CH, P40 and now P42. It has never been pull by E8 since they were all gone when Amtrak took over the AT.
