Can anyone help me out with which would be the best brand(s) of model railroad paint for airbrushing? How to use? How to thin? Ease of cleanup, etc. I have never really airbrushed using model railroad paints before. Only military models.
    Thanks.

After giving up smoking for the sake of my lungs two years ago, I also decided to give up airbrushing with Floquil lacquers for the same reason. I have been using Modelflex in my airbrush, diluted about 20 % with tap water. It also cleans up with tap water. I have been using a Testor's Modelmaster airbrush and have been very pleased with the results. With the large number of colors available, do not use anything else now.

Greg, all I can find under Testors' site are the Aztec series of airbrushes. What is a modelmaster? I have been considering an Aztec set, but I need to know if it can handle the paint you suggested-Modelflex, that's Badger, right? Have also seen an Accuflex and a ProColor.
    Thanks.

Modelmaster was the line of airbrushes Testors sold prior to the Aztek line. I got a real good price on it from Brooklyn Locomotive Works. It uses the same tips as the Aztek airbrush. Yes, Modelflex paint is made by Badger.
