    Hi all
Was wondering if anybody has the MRC Synchro Sound box for diesel? The one thats on the back cover of the November 2005 MR. Wondering what you think about it. Is the prime mover sound EMD? Does it synchro good, and if so, what run position would you say it gets up to, as per sound?
    Thanks for all input.

Can't answer this part except to say there is only one prime mover sound and it cannot be changed. Would be nice if it were downloadable/changeable like on the LokSound units that PCM will be using.
It depends - are you using it with DC or DCC? It makes a difference. I have the steam unit and am using it with DC. The rates and synchronization are very limited. The tech at MRC tells me there is a much greater range available when running on DCC. You will find the same true with the diesel unit.
Overall these are a big improvement over the earlier SoundStation 312.

I have a Diesel unit ordered. It should be here by the end of the week. I will use it with DCC. I'll let you know what I think. This is the only sound syetem i've had since I bought the old Soundtraxx unit in the early 90's. It had great engine sounds, especially when I hooked it to a sub woofer, too. But the horn and bell stunk on ice.
Hopefully MRC has hit a homer, well at least a triple.
