The MRC Synchro Sound Box (Diesel) come today and, of course, I need help. The instructions state, “it is programmed the same as if it were an on-board decoder. It must be programmed to the same address as the locomotive you want to use it with.”
As to wiring for DCC - simple 4 wire hook-up. 2 wires to the speaker and 2 wires to DCC track out.
I use a Digitrax Super Chief system and (1)I have never programmed a sound decoder and (2) I can find no information in either manual as to how to do it.
    All help appreciated and solicited.
    Thanks,
    Doc

The wiring for the MRC is no different, than the wiring for a Soundtraxx DSX sound only decoder.

The red and black wires go to your bus lines. The other two wires (purple?) go to the speaker.

You program the decoder like any other decoder, on the programming track. Give the decoder a number and then give the same number to the loco use, or use the loco's number for the decoder.

The decoder in the MRC acts like a loco. The decoder and the loco are now in a consist with this setup.

    Have fun..... [IMG]
