Well, we missed the Sumpter Valley photo freight yesterday. Weather here on the coast was lousy, but Martin Hansen has posted some nice shots of the SV where the weather was better. :(
Can still see the SP&S 700 do her Santa train thing between Portland and Vancouver, WA on Dec. 11. :D

Hey fitz, We are in the middle of setting up a Christmas train with the 4449 as well. It will run on SamTrak, and one of my best friends will be a Santa for it, allready growing his beard. :D

Anyway, just a heads up, butt..........SSSHHHHHHHH, dont tell anyone. ;)

Have not heard much in fan media about the SV this year. What's happening with them? Doing well? I hope...?

Ken, their volunteers and fans are real active on the narrow gauge forum. I find it by googling every once in a while. They have laid some new track to the old depot and I can't remember if they got the crossing gates and signals that they needed. They ran that photo special last weekend. $40 for all day and meals were included!!! Sure wish I had gone over there.

Next time, you'll make it there. But have to take double the pictures, to make up for missing this trip. [IMG] [IMG]

Is the SV only going to be rebuilt from McEwen to Sumpter or are they going rebuild more of the line if possible?

Tim, I don't know the answer to that question. If you get on that narrow gauge forum there's a young man who volunteers at SV and is very active on the net. His name is Taylor Rush and you can probably contact him via the NG forum. I'm sure he has the answer. :D
