Darn, too bad I model the late 70s and early 80s- those FTs look NICE! Looks like I-M has a winner here! I can't wait for the rest of the F-series to come out!
An A-B set of NP's ones lasted till 1970 and actually became BN loco's (though never painted green) briefly before being retired. AFAIK these were the last FT's in operation with a US class 1...
I'm not an Espee guy, but the only N scale F units I've seen lately are Bachmann Spectrum's F7s (A and B, powered). My local train pusher has two sets in stock. IMO they don't run too bad, but they are a wee bit noisy. I'd like to see the I-M Fs in action.
An update from the Atlas N Forum from Marty at I-M ====== I have no idea what [one dealer] is talking about. The FTs were delayed due to a shortage of motor parts (specifically magnets) that the factory in China obtains from a vendor in Japan. We used that delay to work out a slight problem we were experiencing with what I felt was excessive gear noise in the trucks. The sample shells shown are all on the list for release shortly. Your InterMountain dealer will receive information about the month's release with his/her regular monthly memo. BTW, the first four runs (69001-69004) aren't sold out at our level yet, but they are moving quickly. Thanks for all you(r) interest and support. I just checked the Intermountain web site and they have finally updated the FT page with photo's. They are the same photo's you have all seen here before but the one thing the web site now says is "In Stock". Maybe a shipment had come in at last.
