I get the same $88. Since the stuff is in New York, it seems the further away it is, the more expensive it is to ship it there.

As for ebay it's always offering this pp-paypal there's no other option for payment example U.S.P.S. MO , unless one does ask the seller if he, they would accept a U.S.P.S. MO as payment. Yes, there are some who are still old school .

Supposedly they are dropping PP for another venue. Which seems odd to me. Dumping their own company? Strange!

Yes. I had forgotten. Still, it has me wondering. Apparently post "spinoff" of PP, things must not be friendly between the two...

My point was that it looks like a 4-6-6-4, rather than a 2-8-8-2 or whatever it was originally titled as before it was corrected. I see that the title now matches the actual wheel counts in the picture.

It was never produced for Atlas. If I recall correctly (mine are all gone) the underside was "AHM Austria" which would have made them Roco items.

I do have a few of the protoypical varieties released in 1991 by Eastern Seaboard Models (none of the original runs were ever done in any prototype schemes!). They are described as produced in Austria, again pointing me to Roco. Well, actually ESM has "Roco" in the description!

Checking in with an $11.10 shipping cost. I'm wondering whether the "dimensional weight" foisted upon us by the Postal Service (as well as FedEx and UPS) is in play here. It hasn't kicked in everywhere yet, just after a certain number of zones. That will change later this year and we'll all get to pay $88 or thereabouts...

That's just this seller's style. If you look at his other listings and sales, he lists at the top of the market. Sometimes gets it, most times he accepts a lower offer. His listings have appeared on this thread before.
