Definitely a case where I'd like this guy's handle so I can also block him. "I expect some compensation" is clear extortion.

This is where I really don't like how eBay now masks the seller IDs any chance they can get, or hides the item purchased so that a non-party to the transaction can't see what actually happened.

Edit: It gets better. eBay masks the buyer ID in two different ways... it's "h***e" under Pete's bidder list for the item, and "h***h" in the feedback received list. Looks like eBay and "transparent" are rapidly becoming opposites of each other.

And speaking of humor I have the same house bought somewhere back when at a show along with a few others. I believe at the time I paid about $1.50 for it. Now with that price and a few others like it that I have applied some more realistic paint to and got rid of the hokey bushes painted on the walls I could claim a custom decorated piece at half that and make a heck of a profit. If that sells I am in the wrong line of work. And even if it sells for 14 bucks which is probably where the decimal point was supposed to be I'm still in the wrong line of work.

It's a scale price for a scale house!

Actually it is a misplaced decimal point but from looking at his other things he's selling, he is asking for top dollar on them too (IMHO). Model Power 3 dome tank for $15, junk plastic cars (the vans don't even have tires) also $15

Prebuilt fire station $20 (look, the van still doesn't have tires)

First he says: "It is new in the sense of never been operated." Then he says: "It is typical Kato in its running characteristics."

I'm sorry folks, but you cannot have it both ways. To know the latter statement as fact, it was operated. Otherwise it can only be a broad brush sweep assumption- The type which makes me pause.

"It did run like a Kato, but I traveled back in time with the loco in the Tardis to a point at which I hadn't yet run it, therefore it hadn't actually been run at the time I listed it."

Aha. Your version is a vast improvement! Now if he'd told this fairy tale from the start, it would have come across much more honestly.

Paint is flaking off of the handrails on both sides (where they connect to the cab) and either this had the open pilot and had MT's installed (poorly) or the front pilot is broken. Also, something about the paint and the cab numbers looks wrong...

I called E Bay this morning. They were very quick to classify this as "Feedback Extortion" They will remove the negative feedback and send the buyer a warning letter. I am blocking him.

If he would have contacted me with the problem, I would have given him a partial refund. Now he gets nothing. I doubt there is anything wrong with the caboose. What a jerk. I Googled him and he works for Walmart Corporate. People are so easy to find.

Is it O.K. to list his ID here so others know? If not, PM me and I will let you know who he is.

Folks I have here genuwine bags of factory air that I will be putting up on the bay at the insanely low price of 500 big ones for a five bag set. Each five bag set includes bags of Kato, Bachmann, Athearn, Model Power, and the extremely rare Mehano factory air. No longer does one have to claim it is new in box and never been touched when it can be displayed in a factory air environment. Custom made attachment for injecting factory air from the bags into a sealed plastic car box for an additional low price of 300 big ones. I offer this fantastic deal here so those who wish to avoid the bidding frenzy and BUY IT NOW before being listed on the bay.
Payment can be in the form of good ole Greenbacks in a plain envelope. No Confederate dollars please. Or you can supply me your credit card number and I will do the work of extracting my funds owed.

The bag with the still warm factory air from being near the injection molding equipment is an added bonus at no charge.

Had a similar thing happen once with a guy in Canada. Wanted a discount or negative feedback, I offered him a full refund to return it since he got it cheap anyways. He left the negative, I contacted Ebay and they removed it. I blocked him afterwards

    Best not to do so.

It is very good to know you took and action, and got results! I'd sure like to have seen the look on his face, when he got that letter!
