    Greetings!!!

The old Atlas turnouts (#4s) always included a curved piece of track to get those yard ladders and sidings parallel. The new number 5's, alas, do not.

What radius is needed to run a parallel siding using the new #5 turnouts?

    Thanks,

    Chris

The section of Atlas code 55 track you need to use is the 30.69" radius curve section. This will give you 1.25" track centers, which is built into the track's geometry. If you ever plan to use the #7 turnout, it requires the use of the 71" radius section to also create the 1.25" track center.

Thank you. I'd figured out the spacing but couldn't find anywhere where the radius was published.
