Specifically, I am looking for a very, VERY good map of their system, which shows which towns they might have traversed. I am hoping to then be able to better identify locations mentioned in their train orders I have collected. I know some of them are probably actually coal mine sites. But they did not operate almost completely out in the countryside? Or did they? Coraopolis was one town they encountered. Others?

I don't know a whole lot about the Montour, other than most of it is gone. I shot this picture of Montour Junction Tower on 09/25/1997, located in Coraopolis. Note that it was known as CP 10 on the railroad. I don't know this tower's fate, but suspect it's been demolished.

If I find anything I have on the Montour, I'll pass it on to you.

According to that timetable, they had a lot more interchange with other RRs than I'd imagined.

Amazing that you have that many. Some of that handwriting is hard to read! Just checked and I do not have a Montour employee timetable.

There's several great maps in that link that would be helpful to someone trying to model this railroad!

For what it might be worth, this is from my March 1945 Official Guide. It also shows interchanges at the bottom of the listing.

So far I have been able to chase down a little more information about locations. Of course all are in Pennsylvania.

Boggs is apparently in the town of Imperial.

Brookside- no apparent town associated. (There is a Brookside, but far across the State from the Montour RR.)

    Champion was a mine site.

    Cowden- no information.

    Gilmore Junction- no information.

    Hills- no information.

    Imperial is a town.

    Library is a town.

    Lotus- no information.

    McDonald is a town.

Montour & Montour Junction are both in the town of Coraopolis.

Muse Junction is in the town of Cecil.

    Nelson- no information.

North Star was a mine site.

    Peacock- no information.

    Westland is a town.
