Hi there, I have recently decided modelling was not difficult building a British TT layout so I have decided to make life more fun and start in N scale.

The new project is PRRin th e period 1956-68 set around the Appalacian coal drag scene. I am currently collecting locos and rolling stock and learning alot about some quite unfamiliar things.

Space for the layout is a spare room 13' X 14' but this has to be shared with the TT layout so I am looking at maybe 3 long but narrow (12") shelves with a return loop at each end.

It is a bit of a challenge at the moment as the only information but being a PRR fan running coal trains with Baldwin sharks is quite a motivating factor. Only drawback i hve found is the need for many minitrix pacifics to kitbash.

Good to have you on board! Never quite my "cup of tea," but there is something classy about a lot of the PRR locos.

Have to agree, there is something about the PRR, especially the Steam and electrics that convinced me, a lifetime British prototype fan to start something different. With the steamers it is the belpare fireboxes that look like UK locos on steriods. Of course in N scale we are a bit limited for steam but I have my N track steam loco handbook so I I need is the raw materials.

Welcome to Trainboard. The PRR was one of the first railroads I ever rode on.
