I am at the stage with my "Something Different" excavator of adding lights to the body of it. I want to simulate lenses for the "headlights" and cab lights at the rear of the body. I don't want to just drill a hole and stick the LED's through. Any ideas on how to model what is basically headlight and tail light lenses? Thanks Edward
Edward, think about using MV lenses for the lights and Sunrise Enterprise ditch light or headlight moldings for the light itself. I've used both on all my locomotives that have non-operating ditch lights. If it's the GHQ excavator you're talking about, the Sunrise Enterprises Mars light may be perfect - it's a single unit applicable for your use with maybe a little filing to disguise it. Pictures are on Walthers and Sunrise sites. The MV lenses are on Walthers. Mike Cannone San Diego, CA
MV lenses are good. I found that just regular sequins of various sizes, found in craft shops, will work as well and are much cheaper when you need alot of them. Also I use round cut shiny 'Glitter' which comes in colors of red, green, yellow and white. The sizes vary. Good for rear marker lights where the form of a light is molded into the body. Found at hobby or craft shops. ..Eddie
Thanks guys, I was planning a trip to one of the better shops on Wed., and their web site says they carry MV Products! Thanks again Edward
