My grandpa worked on the RI for 38 years and I have been collecting RI items for about 20 years. I am currently struggling with try to model a era of the Rock Island. I am thinking about modeling the 50s-60s of the RI. Would anyone have a good suggestion where I could see some of my RI items that would not fit into this era.

Hi 'Teacher' - I model the CRI&P in N scale - in a generic midwestern setting - My time era has really been determined by what's out there in this scale (in engines) and what I can afford so it's the early 1960s. I have a GP18, and E8 A and B units by LifeLike. There are other fine models out there: Lifelike's FA and FB models spring to mind. The nice thing about the Rock is that you can run almost any paint scheme you'd like, especially late era - late 70s. Good luck!
