Eugen, You ground colors look very good for California! What materials and colors do you use? Also, are your roads made form caulk? - Tonkphilip
No that's the real thing!
Its real dirt! No coloring
Beautiful. One of the things that makes this work for me is the way you get the effect of depth from the backdrop and the way the foreground transitions to background. Hills/mountains behind green trees is a good way to do this, but it's harder to do arid California well with hills/mountains behind dry grassy hills. Really nicely done. Rick
Very nicely done! You've captured the colors as well as the 'roadside flavor' of the soCal high desert areas. Kudos!
All the roads and the concrete are made from cardboard
Great stuff Eugen! I have enjoyed the pics of the shops. Cool to see some other areas of the layout
i know that area hahahah pretty nice. what did ya make the roads from ?
The roads are made from cardboard
I have made roads out of thin foam core signs that where going in the trash at work. They had a plastic cover on both sides and after peeling one of them off you have a nice slightly ruff surface to paint and install. Have used cardboard also but my results were not as good as yours Eugen. Fantastic job.
This reminds me of the work of Bob Smaus
Yes your right.
I copyed Bob's HO layout and build it in N-scale. I looked to the articles in Model Railroader.
Awesome job on the railroad. It looks just like CA!
Beautiful work. It certainly has "the feel".
new Mojave Diesel shop
That's the new wheelshop
You need a Santa Fe logo on that building.
