I have not done it on my HOn3 model, but the basic construction looks similar to the On3 version, where I have done it on some of my MMI models, though not on the K-27. (Also with the help of some advice.) Anyway, there is a tiny screw on the upper side of the coupler pocket. If you remove that screw, the front coupler should come off. You may have to deal with the connection to the coupler release lever, but you can probably unhook it without doing much damage. A magnifier like an opti-visor would be helpful in any case. And you'll probably need a 000 size Philipps screwdriver. The challenge may be to adapt a functional coupler in such a way that it will fit into the coupler pocket. Let us know what and how you did it in the end.
