I'll second the BNSF Dash 9's, GP50's, spine cars, sulfur cars, and LPG tankers. Also would probably be in for a GP60M/GP60B set, and probably a Kato SD75I. Would add: -Santa Fe GP7 conversion -Angle-roof CF7 -JA Autofloods -Updated Thall Hi-Side Coal gons -Berwick Bathtub Coal Gons -Virtually any modern tank car -Virtually any modern gondola REEEEALY WANT: -4727cf Carbon Black cars -"Early" 53ft JB Hunt Containers
I'll second both those motions. Kato already did the correct cab windows and ditchlights on the AC4400CW, so the data for correct H2 BSNF dash-9s should already be in their computers. I also second the call for more TOFCs, and GP60Ms and Bs! Also... -A modern (no logo-panel) version of a standard (not hi-cube) 40' container. -53' well cars that are not Gunderson Maxi-IVs. (There's a thrall, an NSC, and a Trinity) -Maxi-I well cars. -JB Hunt trailers -MP36PH in Caltrain (Athearn?) -Caltrain (and Metra?) gallery cars
I would love to see the GP60M's and GP60B's someday. Would be a great addition. As for a new freight car, I would love to see the hoppers like this one used for hauling carbon black As a side note, why am I not surprised that a "What's missing" or what you'd like to see thread has to include manufacture bashing. Does everything have to be negative?
Count me in for the Geep 60M's and 60B's as well. What's missing? A constant flow of previously good selling merchandise. Manufacturers revisiting their past products. Atlas does a good job of this. Other's should take note. I would love an updated C30-7. SD40-2's without ditchlights. More 89' flats. Some modern buildings. (RIP Nu-line) 70's and 80's automobiles. I'm sure there is more, but those are the main things for me. -Mike
It's a big ask because of the small market, but how about some road specific steam rather than USRA types? I don't mean the 'everyone's gonna buy one whatever road they model' locos like the Big Boys, Cab Forwards and GS4's but the everyday steam that performed the majority of service. Apart from the Spectrum 2-8-0 that's a reasonable match for a few not very typical ex NYC, ex KCM&O ATSF 2-8-0's, Walthers/LL Y3 (that only ever operated as Raton Pass helpers), the hit and miss quality Bachmann 4-8-4 and equally so but more expensive limited run brass there's nothing there for Santa Fe modellers. Pick any road and you could say the same thing.
I would love to see an MP15AC and early version SD40-2 in N Scale and a bay window caboose like the one Walthers does in HO Scale. Also the 20,700 gallon tank car, more enclosed Bi and Tri level enclosed auto racks and piggy back flats along with 60' bulk head flats.More decals available in N Scale,a high level switch stand, the chevron style like the Milwaukee Road had.
I'm with you. I really would like to see more modern vehicles and buildings especially a decent gas station. Ben
Could it be that the buildings available are mostly copies of HO buildings such as done by Walthers, where steam era modelling seems more prevalent? I notice the majority of items wanted in N scale seem to be from the modern era.
19,000 gallon corn syrup car STSX 1504 Smooth sided 57' refer (Fruit Growers, BNFE, BNSF had a ton) BNFE 12965 Trinity plastics covered hopper
Got to agree with the folks who said modern gas station. I`d like an mini mart type, AM/PM Wawa, 7-11, Sheetz, Circle K. Ones like that.
Seems like this outfit has already used their N-scale shrink-ray on some HO versions of modern buildings - Taco Bell, Domino's, & Dave's coffee. Maybe a few email requests from the N crowd will speed up the process for producing the rest...strip mall, CVS, hotel, Lowes, gas station? Modern structure model kits and accessories Although the price $$ might not be in everyone's sweet spot, they sure look NICE !!
Thanks for the link. I didn't know that the company existed. You are correct about the price not being in everyone's sweet spot. Ben
Here is their upcoming products: Custom Cuts by Summit Looks like we'll be getting the modern gas station, strip mall, and motel in N. I'm a little happier now. :tb-biggrin: -Mike
Can't believe I forgot this one ... I would also love to see some manufacturer release a current version of the Amtrak Cascades Talgo sets ER-Models did a good job with the "prototype" set (like this: ER-Models, N-Scale Amtrak Talgo 200 Set - eBay (item 250291894608 end time Sep-14-08 20:00:00 PDT) ) but I would love to have the modern versions in N-Scale.
Repaint of Spanish Talgo train made by Spanish manufacturer Ibertren and sold by E-R Models. I dare say we wouldn't even have had this one if Ibertren hadn't produced the Spanish version.
well ... that's what Amtrak did after all ... BTW ... I changed the link to point to all the talgo stuff talgo, Kato items on eBay.com
