SOU "mini" SD45's

    This is one of my favorite Southern locos... the first time I saw this loco, I thought it was an SD45... then I saw the "B" trucks.... but there was no GP45 [​IMG]

    It is actually a GP40X... the forerunner of the GP50. I wish they had kept the flared radiators [​IMG]

    I would like to think what you shot were GP40Xs, the GP50 predecessor/demonstrator model. UP also had 'em with some sort of experimental B-truck.

    Yes, the GP40X was a "minor" unit.... I think SP, SF, and Southern had them... Did I miss anyone?
