Can anyone tell me if these units were ever painted in the orange/black scheme used on their other diesels?

    Thanks David:

What about painted in the later orange and black scheme of the late 50's early sixties. Would they have been in this scheme.

I believe most of the MILW FT's were traded in to EMD in 1959, so it's doubtful any of them got the simplified orange and black scheme without the maroon.

    Thanks David:

I'm thinking of painting an FT AB set in the simplified scheme for a "what if" appearance.

    Bill-

The FT's, as previously noted, were all traded in on GP9's in 1959. The simplified orange/black scheme was introduced in 1952, with the first SD7 delivery.

I don't recall seeing any pictures of FT's repainted in those colors. Many units carried maroon well into the 1960's. Including the electrics.

    Thanks Ken:

After Daves and your commnets. it kind of confirmed my suspisions. I think I may go ahead and get a set and do them up for the "what if " Paint scheme. I have a softspot for FT's, and a Milwaukee AB set pulling a log train would be pretty slick.
