Does anyone have info on the herald/logo used by this short line both before and after it was acquired by the Missouri Pacific? Johnc2 Probably should have added that Mike & Ike was the nickname for the Missouri Illinois. It was acquired by MoPac in the late 20's. [ 01. January 2004, 17:26: Message edited by: johnc2 ]
I've looked through several old Official Guides. Often, when a RR had a logo, it's shown in the Guide. Nothing pictured. Not even for the Mississippi River & Bonne Terre. Am no expert, but I do recall the C&EI ended up with the MP "Buzz Saw" logo. I wonder if the same is true for the M-I? Boxcab E50
Thanks. I've checked MOPACs history web site and there's a number of photos. They just show the road name on tenders for steam and Missouri above the band, with Illinois below, on the RS3s and GP7s. Figured it was a long shot, but never hurts to ask. John
Mike & Ike?? Here I thought that was the nick name for the Minnesota & International RR, which was absorbed by the Northern Pacific in 1941. Dan
