Hi everyone! New member excited to be here among a great group of people. Was lucky enough to recently acquire a Kato Mikado, first run. Runs amazing and in excellent condition. The only thing is, it's missing a few tiny parts. If anyone has or knows where I could get the KATO 933010 N Scale Mikado N Detail Parts Pkg #1, I would really appreciate it!
Hi, welcome to TrainBoard. The detail parts for Mikados are some of the rarest creatures known to man . The best hope is to find someone who installed one of the GHQ kits, so never used the details. If you have any inclination to install DCC and/or sound, do it before installing any details.
LOL. Well I hope my luck continues and I'm able to find the parts but I won't get my hopes up too high. Not sure I'll do any DCC but thanks for the tip. I'm just getting started with my trains and layout and planning.
Kato shows the parts for both versions of the Mikado as discontinued. And just did a minor search on the web with the usual garbage results so your best luck may be here as said or, shudder, Ebay.
HI I might have the gold parts. but it will take me few days to find them I have about 30 boxes to go threw.
I've been looking online but haven't found anything useful. There was an old eBay listing from 2015 with the the parts I needed and reached out to the seller in the rare case he'd have another, but he didn't.
John, that's fantastic if you could find them, wow! No rush, I've got time Specifically from the highlighted section of the PDF, I'm looking for B-2 and B-4.
I have Number Two and Number Three out my [donkey], but have only two of the Number One. I might yet live..............oh, never mind. If Original Poster still wants Number One, send a PM to me.
The last time I saw them on eBay, they sold for $59.95 with $4.95 shipping. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Kato-Heavy...Yd08us9ffFnXZTLqxwCbY%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc A tip on putting them on: they tend to fly away and hide. Try putting the wire handrails through their supports before cutting those supports off their sprues. That also helps position them for mounting on the boiler.
Oh goodness, that's expensive! I picked up the whole locomotive for under $80...I may have to rethink obtaining the 2 missing pieces :/
Wow! That is right up there with the $100+ traction drivers a few years ago, before Kato re-released them.
http://goldmm.com/nscale/gmnsloco.htm You may want to think about this. And probably some of our vendors on this site may have them. I know that Fifer carries this line. I have used the product before when I was building some steam.
What do you need? Just the whistle and safety valve? I converted mine over to a GHQ L-1, all the other stuff thrown in a parts box. PM me or email the address at randgust.com I never kept the detail parts separate, just stripped everything I didn't need and threw it in there. Might have them.
Just wanted to check in with everyone that showed interest with helping me, didn't want any leads to get cold
I have loads of NEW detail parts! email mbauman@ptd.net Let me know the name or Kato part number. THANKS FOR LOOKING!!!
