You talked me into this pi400. I’ll just have to learn to keep my workbench a bit more neat!

Whoa! Easy now; let's not do anything drastic...

Can you add a slide-out keyboard tray under the front edge of the workbench?

Already have one that holds my main laptop. It stays closed and feeds a 27” monitor. I’ll get it sorted as this bench is my main hobby bench. I have another in the basement for house projects/tinkering and one in the garage for heavier work.

Cleared an end and set up a workstation. This end is closest to the layout so I can’t feed it from here without too much bother. Waiting on an HDMI to Displayport adapter and then I’ll neaten the cables up. My friends office bought new monitors a while back and he gave me this one. 24” should be plenty of room for me to work on my DCC++EX skills.

Struck out with the DisplayPort adapter. I needed to go from hdmi to displayport and that’s not possible. Can only go from displayport to hdmi. Who knew? Ordered a dvi to hdmi adapter and those are bidirectional. It won’t carry audio but that’s not an issue for me.

Not sure if you are using it as shown in the photo, but unlike a pure keyboard, there's a fair amount of heat generated inside the Pi-400. Using it on a towel like that blocks off the ventilation slots, so it might shorten the life of the Pi-400, and/or cause malfunctions.

No, the towel is there as I had to lay the monitor face down to receive my dose of humiliation.

Not sure I understand the problem but were you looking for something like ( THIS )?

Yes, but due to my ignorance of how these work I wasn’t aware that the one I purchased only worked in one direction. Fortunately these are cheap at around $6. I have the hdmi to dvi coming tomorrow and it is bidirectional so my issue should be resolved.

My first servo is alive. Very exciting to see that little motor come to life.

A week ago I ordered a TCS WOW decoder, motherboard, and speaker for a Stewart Baldwin AS-16. Was shipped on Friday and I got it via UPS yesterday. The pricing had definitely increased. My approach may be to just put mobile decoders only in my older Atlas engines and convert my newer engines only over to sound. I really like TC$ and will probably stick w/ them when $pringing for sound.
