I may be getting a little impatient, but "summer" as we think of it (July-August) is almost over and I see that the promised Micro-Trains turnouts are still not available. I liked the track a lot, and so I'd like to get a few of their switches also, asap. I assume that they will have the same good quality as the track. I also have been assuming (am I right to assume this?) that the turnouts will have the same kind of built-in roadbed as the regular track, and so will match the track perfectly in this regard. Can I make that assumption? Also, does anyone have any idea of when these turnouts will actually be available?

My Grandfather is in his mid 90's and is waiting for MTL turnouts too, so he can replace all the Marklin track on layout. He got some ballast in a few of the turnouts, and has a few other track problems that will be resolved with the use of MTL track and turnouts.

At grandpa's age, a few months delay is significant, so we want to see the turnouts ASAP too! :eek:mg:

As posted by Joe (MTL) just 2 weeks past, MTL has approved the final design and released the product to manufacturing (China). It will take weeks to get the volume up, ship and distribute so I would say he is pretty close to being on time. At this scale, anyone that has done injection molding would know that no dimension is exact with 10,000 pounds of pressure and 1000's of times pressing the molds together. Then there is plastic variations where it sometimes shrinks more that other times. With the low volume of Z, you just have to learn to be patient for the good stuff. But then again, if everyone didn't keep the chatter up, then all the suppliers wouldn't know how much we are willing to buy.

I was too impatient to wait for them... I went and spent a little (well, a lot) extra coin for the Wright turnouts. They work great with some tweaking. I am curious to see these turnouts myself!

I am waiting too for the MT tournouts. I am very interested in getting some. What I am really hoping for is that they work just as well as the kato unitrack ones in N did. Torsja, nice work!
