From a dreary 02/25/1989 at Myrtlewood and Naheola, AL. At the time, the M&B was owned by James River Paper, serving their mill in Naheola.
Nice stuff. Here is the only M&B unit I ever saw in the Black and Yellow and it was looking well worn. This was in August 1993
The The 101 is a high hood too. Looks like a former SOU unit behind it. The M&B was running cabooses that same day in 1989. Caught high hood 105 in better light at the CSX engine terminal at Montgomery in 03/1990. It must have made a visit for heavier servicework somewhere.
A drive by of the M&B on Wed. January 17, 2024 found a couple of units sitting under the shed. Bi changes coming to the M&B with the CPKC and CSX teaming up to buy part of it to create a bridge route between the two roads. Should be interesting to see what comes of that endeavor.
