I was switching an industry and I had a few cars to be left there and the others to be picked up by the next freight. While I did block these cars at the end of a siding, I had no real way to tell (or remember) the next operator was to leave the cars there. I have had these "Men at Work" signs around for a long time, so I put one in the center of the track as you see here. These ideas come to me in the middle of the night, you know?

Does anyone else in the TB populace use these type of signs?

I thought of using a stick pin to make the sign more substantial, but I don't want to put holes in the scenery. Could I use a small magnet and attach it to one rail? Would a small magnet hurt engine motors? Maybe a small, low sign I could rotate or fold down. Something that wouldn't get lost. I could make these into decals and place them on a saw horse or small bracket that would sit across the track.

Anyone have any ideas or experience with this? Thanks.

Good idea Flash, I do like your idea to use a small sawhorse, that would make it more realistic.

Great idea, Flash. I have these sign around somewhere too. Some day I have to build it.

I guess the rails are non magnetic. I wood use like the real ones a small piece (of plastic) you can push over one rail. Just like a gauge.

I think so. Something like a styrene channel-shaped strip of appropriate size. Or, if it goes over only one rail, you could probably use some type of brass shape, too.
