There has been much speculation about how close the size of the McDonald's ornament is to N Scale. Yesterday I measured the front and side of the original McDonald's building in DesPlaines. The building measures 32'-3" over the outside of the arches and 41'-10" front to back. The model is 35'-10" across the front and 33'-6" front to back. To my trained eye (I am an Architect by education and training) given slight variations in these buildings, the model is spot on proportion-wise for N Scale. The service window is just about waist high for an N Scale figure (although the interior counters seem low). The prototype building has a deeper back room to the rear accounting for the 8'-4" less depth on the model; the glassed in portion of the building is roughly correct. Charlie
