Martin E. Hansen sent me some photos from last weekend's steam doubleheader on the McCloud featuring 2-8-2 No. 18 which is freshly restored and steamed for the first time in years, and 2-6-2 No. 25. Martin reported that six inches of new snow fell the night before, making for some excellent photo conditions. All that said, I'll see if I can post them. Had a little trouble with the files.

OK, now that we have figured out how to post them, here is a great shot. Martin is one of the most active railfans in the northwest, and a great photographer.

Great pictures. The snow makes them stand out. Look at the smoke. Nothing like steam locos EH!

That last shot shows the essence of steam, and why a steam locomotive will always turn heads [IMG]

That last shot was what railroading was all about! You can't get the full impact without the sounds though.

Now if only we could get that volume of smoke in 1:87.1 with out gasing everybody in the train room! :D

    Beautiful locomotives.
