Web update: McCloud Dinner Train extends schedule to mid-January Mount Shasta Area NewspapersWed Jan 06, 2010, 09:13 AM PST McCloud, Calif. - The McCloud based Shasta Sunset Dinner Train has announced that due to customer demand, they’ve extended their schedule until Jan. 16. The Dinner Train announced Nov. 18, 2009 that service would be discontinued Jan. 1, 2010. Dinner Train vice president Jalene Forbis said since the announcement, they’ve been inundated with requests for reservations. “The support has been overwhelming and due to customer response, we added seven additional trains to our schedule in an effort to allow everyone the opportunity to ride before we close,” she said. President Jeff Forbis has said previously that the Dinner Train is for sale. “I am still hopeful that a buyer will purchase the business and re-establish service in the near future,” Jeff said. On the final run on Jan. 16, 2010, the Dinner Train will feature music and dancing with DJ Robert DeAguero. The Shasta Sunset Dinner Train still has availability on Jan. 8 and 16.
