Hi all, Am new to the board and want to say Hi to everyone!! I have been watching the messages about track differences. I am planning on returning to the hobby and have a bunch of Shinohara code 70 that I want to reuse. Problem is that I will need more track for the new layout I have planned. Has anone else ran into this problem and are there any matching brands of track that can be substitued or interchanged with what I have?? Thanks in advance, Gary
Welcome to Trainboard, Gary. The great folks on this forum are, collectively, one of the greatest sources of N Scale knowledge anywhere. In response to your question, Shinohara no longer manufactures N scale track (someone correct me if I'm wrong) and I beleve that Micro-Engineering is the only manufacturer of N scale code 70 track. They offer both weathered and non-weathered Flextrack, #6 turnouts, rail Joiners, a track gauge and bulk rail. Micro-Engineering sells code 70 items by the following numbers: 10-122 - Non Weathered Flex Track. 12-122 - Weathered Flex Track. 11-110 - Bridge Flex Track. 15-405 - #6 left handed Turnout. 15-406 - #6 Right Handed Turnout. 16-070 - Weathered Rail 17-070 - Non Weathered Rail 26-070 - Code 70 Rail Joiners (metal). 26-071 - Insulated rail Joiners. 24-108 - Track Gauge. Hope this helps. Cheers! Terry
K.V. - The 2001 Walthers picture book does list Shinohara code 70 track, but as far as availability??????
Thanks for the info guys. I was afraid that Shinohara would be out of the N-scale business, must have gotten scared by the teeny weenie size!! I have read the board for a while and am truly impressed by the knowledge possessed by everyone on line. I look forward to soaking in as much as possible from whoever will allow me. Gary
