    I am wanting to create a map showing the construction history of the Frisco. I am looking for inexpensive mapping software. Anyone have any recommedations?

    DeLorme, makes a relatively inexpensive mapping software. I believe it is around $70. It is good topgraphical maps and you can put place tags on it and create trails on it. The do have a website.

    DeLourme works just fine, but remember that you have to pay for each additional STATE on CD, and that's an additional cost. But it is detailed down to the USGS level and shows yard and track switches. We use it professionally a lot to make railroad system maps.
