Today while passing through Hamlet, I saw a very unusual "train" holding the main line: it had a CSX Road Slug set (GP35/GP40-2) on the point followed by about two dozen Livingston Rebuild Center 6 axle GE units! Looks like CSX has leased some more power! I will try and get some pictures up later, but unfortunately, I was on "the wrong side of the tracks" (lighting wise), so they are not great [IMG] I also spotted a "fresh" HLCX unit in an SD45 body.

These units are probably being returned. Read on another board that CSX is returning many of their lease units.

You know, I didn't think about the possibility that they were gathering them up to return them [IMG] Leasers are such a fixture on the CSX...

The economy is slowing down. Read all about it on egroups. Layoffs expected on some railroads, carloadings dropping off, less need for locomotives.
