Which one would be better on a layout, a Wye or a Loop? Austinville, my main yard already has a wye on it, but Im kinda wondering what to do about the other end of my layout at Buck Dam, what do yall think I should do? [IMG]

    Hi Sean.
You already have a wye at the one end. I would put a loop at the other end just to be different and have a variation. Of course you would have to watch the polority on both ends with DPDT switches.

    Sean,
It really depends on you and your preferences. If you like to watch em run, the a loop. On the other hand, you may really enjoy switching, then neither.

Loops eat a lot of space, so I don't know how large your layout is, but if smaller and you enjoy switching, and are into diesels, then a runaround track at the other end might be better.

I'll agree with Rob. As your layout sounds like a point to point, a turntable would add a lot of operating interest.

It is a point to point, and theres 3 main line that runs throughout the layout together so I think a Loop would be hard to fit. So I decided to go with a turntable and a Wye at Buck Dam. Thank you all for your help.
