Since my SFSW setting is in New Mexico, I thought it would visually help if I scratch built my roundhouse in an adobe style . Currently I am looking for any plans for a roundhouse, especially in N scale . Any help would be great!! Happy Modeling!! John, In the Novermber 1989 issue of Model Railroader, Jim Kelley describes how to scratchbuild the Santa Fe's Bakersfield roundhouse in N scale. The prototype was made of reinforced concrete, but the roundhouse at Albuquerque used the same basic plan. You could always cover the outside to look like adobe. Dwight
Thanks Dwight!! I'll check it out...been needing a reason to look at my back issues anyhow!! Happy Modeling!! John ------------------ The Santa Fe and Southwestern, Chief of the Southwest!! Proud to be NARA Member #14
This is certainly not adobe but it may give you some construction ides John. This was a CNR Toronto structure built in 1908. 7 Stalls Cross section for framing ideas Walls and windows I am sure you can customise this to your liking. ------------------ Robin member #35 Proud to be a foundation member of NARA , #2 Maberly and Tayside [This message has been edited by Robin Matthysen (edited 29 January 2001).]
