Any one form canada knows were there is a good store on the net, meaning having some z scale product available!!! I'm from Montreal, and haved tried 3 local hobby store, but in vein, the sales guys are all nice, but when you say the letter ''Z'' its like you have a virus of something . So I would like to purchase some micro Train products, but without having to pay the 155$ or more of the ''dam'' custom fees. Because when your bill gets to $625 USD and then you change that to CND ($738) plus the shipping, you don't want to get a second job just to pay the custom fees, which I personally think is a scam for hobby stuff . Thanks
One dealer that advertises in Ztrack Magazine is Euro Rail Hobbies and More. Their web address is www.eurorailhobbies.com. I am not sure if they carry MTL. You may also want to try Central Hobbies is Vancouver (604) 431-0771, Eddie's Newsstand in Prince Rupert (250) 624-4134, and Pacific Western Rail in Surrey (866) 840-7777. All three of these dealers are American Z Line dealers and may very well carry MTL. Good luck. Rob Kluz
I just checked the MTL web site. They have a 'find a dealer' page on their web site. For Canada, check out: http://www.micro-trains.com/dealers%20canada.htm Rob Kluz
Thanks for the welcome everyone. Thanks ztrack, Vancouver seems to be the place for Z stuffs, I was aware of the dealer link from MTL, but did not find any product for the 2 province QC and ON (meaning; web site that sells Z -scale products), Central Hobbies seems to have nice price (low markup) but Euro Rail does not have any Micro train. Thanks again!!!
animek, I have simulair custom problems because I live in The Netherlands. I have to pay 19% custom fees for every expensive item I'm importing Anyway, welcome to trainboard
Yep, looks like it will be the custom fees after all, no one in Canada has any Micro Train GP35 set in Stock. I've been trying since the last 7 years to get a decent z scale set, and I always get discourage and I go back to N product, but this time I will fight for it.
Fight for it! Trust me, the GP35 is worth every penny. I saw that Micro-Trains is now offering the GP35s in starter sets. This may be the way to go. The price looked good. They have the CP GP35 starter set of $289.95. This has a loco, four freight cars and a caboose. It also has a circle of track (likely their new ballasted track) and a re-railing ramp. Note, these sets do not include a transformer. One online dealer you may want to try is ZscaleMonster (http://www.zscalemonster.com/). They tend to have very good prices on MTL. They have the above mentioned CP set for $231.96. Rob Kluz
