You lucky so 'n' so Is that area on a grade of any sorts? I'm not familiar with prototypical train sounds, but it sounded like some form of wheel braking was going on... Or am I just embarrassing myself? lol. Anyway, nice catch
Sounded like flanges on a curve. Is this a branch line? He seemed to be meandering along at a leisurely pace. But the right of way looked fairly decent. Boxcab E50
I don't know if that was brake noise, or just wheel-on-rail noise, maybe both. There is a slight downhill grade through this area, not steep, but there nonetheless....

I believe that was the Soo job, on the old MN&S line, which services Progressive Rail's Dan Patch Line. When I started up the line for PGR and ran it, we made interchange with CP around noon. Barry
