Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) The NS is the national passenger carrier of the Netherlands. This is a electric train from the 20's, visiting my city Utrecht two years ago. The modern equipment of the NS: double decks intercity trains.

Railion Nederland Largest freight carrier in the Netherlands, part of the large Railion company that rides its trains in Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands and Belgium.
That trackwork is a remnant of the 19th century, when we had several competing railroads. An option to cross eachother and hand over coaches, was this place: Utrecht Lunetten. Nowadays, the track going north (crossing the upper main) goes to the railway museum, and is also used by freights.
Fascinating, nice to hear that your corporate society had the vision to save its heritage for future use. The Boston & Maine had a similar track structure for more than 50 miles in western Massachusetts, southern Vermont, and eastern New York. In the early 1900's, the B&M absorbed two competing railroads that ran virtually parallel, even crossing over one another in two places. The B&M used one line for eastbound traffic and the other for westbound. Guilford has since torn up the more circuitous route, now running single track with one or two passing sidings. I'm sure they wish they had that trackage back based on increased traffic for that area.
Plan to update the index again soon so if you have others to share please post them soon so I can capture those lines in the next update of the index. I would love to seee this list show one of every railroad that ever existed worldwide. :lightbulb: :lightbulb: :lightbulb: :lightbulb:
