Well, gee, you go away for a few hours and miss the chance to post the ATSF warbonnet Alco PA's 51 thru 51C, (later to become D&H) and Black River and Western Consol 60. Guess I'll just go back to sleep until 5200 comes along.
I know how you feel. On a few occasions I had a few numbers waiting in the wings and all of a sudden the count blew right by them. Not much fun playing the game if you can't get the ball.
Thoughts??? Keep in mind 24 hours went by between #56 and #57 and 16 hours between #50 and #51 so there are times where there is a huge pause between posts. Then Zoom! someone was several numbers in a row they can post and we are off to the races again until we have the next huge pause. I myself try not to post more than about 5 numbers per night just to keep the count moving so we can get to number that others have that are just waiting for the count to get up to much bigger numbers. I'm open to ideas???
1) no models, real trains only 2) how about an hour or 2 between number changes, not 5 mins as has been the case with a few posts. esp if posted by the same poster
I don't know about adding a whole lot of rules... I think they lack of rules makes it more challenging! Yes, you have to be fast on the draw... I too have missed several opportunities because it raced past the numbers I had ready, however, that makes it less predictable. I think it is just a game and I will play by whatever rules the group decides.
If I waited 2+ hours between posts that would limit me to one (1) post per day and we wouldn't get anywhere at that rate. I have to agree with Harold that part of the fun / challenge is to keep pace; which could be fast or slow at any given time. With that said, I myself will try to allow more time between posts than I have but I still hope to advance the count by ~5 / day. I'm betting that once we are at 100+ we will have Steam Photos cming from various people and the pace will pick up naturally. Once we get to 1,000+ the Diesel's will come fast and furiously. Once we get to 10,000+ the Freight Cars will take over the count. OK now, where were we... Oh yea, who has #63
# 64 Amtrak # 64 passes the Hamlet depot that has recently been moved and is in the process of being renovated. Harold
