    Here's a new one.

This type of locomotive was sliced half in the seventies.
What type of locomotive was it?
What unit (number) was cut in half?
What was the purpose of this half loco?

Also, if anyone has any good quiz questions, please feel free to post them.

    Was it:

    GG1
    #4846
Cut in half after an accident.
Used as a switcher/snowblower at Wilmington shops?

Have NOT been able to narrow down a date when it was chopped.

You are very close, you have the wrong number, but your good on the type and purpose.

Any references I am finding, so far, are showing 4846.

Hmm, that's weird, the issue of Trains I found this in said that it was number 4848. Well, if 4846 seems to be the more common number, so I will take it as the answer.

Everything I've seen also said 4846.
Probably a magazine typo that wasn't caught?
    Who knows.....
Odd looking contraption though, after conversion!

Make a working G Scale version, and I could have guaranteed fun
playing outside, in the snow!! Run it first, to open up the track, or help
keep it open after running the snow plow first!

Got a admit though, your signature got me to wondering! ;)

I was going to say, that is the one thing that would definitely aid in solving this set of questions.
