That looks very nice. Your going to have a very nice layout.

Those are great sweeping curves. ;)

    Thanks Bob.

I already ripped up part of the track
where it was turning to sharp.

    More pics this weekend.

Good idea to be perfectly satisfied with the track curves, etc. before progressing. [IMG]

What track is it you are using, and what is the base - cork?

Thanks Alan. It is Peco 83 on cork.

I am short on space with the 22"-28" radius curves.
I think the staging area can not be double ended.

Any thoughts on single vs. double ended staging tracks?
Can you see the difference in the curves by the wood post?

    Here are new pics.

    Lookin' good!

If only my train room at my father's house was complete. I'm dreaming just looking at your pics.

We had problems when installing the styrofoam isolent since the concrete screws are a bit too short. [IMG] At least the room will be finish one day........I hope.

The trackwork is starting to shape up.Looks like you have enough clearance near the pole.

If it were my layout, I'd go with double-ended staging, with as many tracks as feasible (none so short as to be ridiculous).

I like what you've got so far- please keep us posted!!

Double ended staging is definitely easier to operate, but does cut the available siding length somewhat. Go with what you have space for [IMG]

I agree with Alan. Your available space will determine the type of staging area you have...

    Thanks for the replies.

I reworked the cork in the storage room
to try for double ended staging.

I need to get some more track down.
I also need to cut some more plywood.

    Crossovers?????

One in storage, One on layout side???
Two in storage, Two on layout side???

Use two as a run around???

    Any suggestions???

    Thanks,
    Loco1999

Try the crossovers in different positions and make your assessment of what works best for you.

What are the dimensions of the benchwork in your storage area where the staging yard is located?

How many tracks will be in the staging area?

    It's about 2' x 12''.

The problem is with the loop ends
I have only 6' for a staging track.

    I could put four staging
    tracks on the inner loop.

If I rework it. I can have two
    staging tracks on each loop.

Four staging tracks should be enough for the size of your layout.

Have you started to lay some track for your N scale division on the upper level?

Are you going to use Unitrack or are you going to try another manufacturer?
