For those who live in the midwestern USA, especially Illinois, a gorgeous example of the Milwaukee Road will soon be on the move. Milw 261 will be running several excursions. Info at their web site: www.261.com (Am not affiliated. Just a crazy Milw Road fan!) BoxcabE50
I looked at the prices and it will take me a year to save up for a ride like that [ 12 June 2002, 00:47: Message edited by: LadySunshine ]
Barb- I can't afford to ride her myself. If I had that money, I'd sure buy some Milw related model RR items! I'd just love to see it with my own eyes. Unfortunately, 261 will likely never be in my area. If you ever have an chance to see a video, Goodheart Productions did a very nice one of the first run after she was rebuilt. BoxcabE50
heyhey..this time I KNOW I can help..I got pics of #261...from almost every imaginable angle, including a few from a nearby overpass
Well, now you have me wondering. Can you share them with us! Would be great fun to see! Argh! Now I feel like watching my 261 video this evening. But know my wife will want to watch something Christmastime traditional... Boxcab E50

most of the pics I've got were taken by my grandmother as it sat in La Plata...I barely got there in time to see it..BEEEAUUUUtiful piece of work, she is....
Goodheart Productions did a couple of videos when 261 was restored. I have their issue from the break-in run, first excursion. It's great! The other is of the restoration process itself. Which I still want to buy. Some day..... Boxcab E50
