Folks, There was a thread years back 5-8+ (newsfeed?) on this topic to gather this info. The LIRR modeling scene was quite different prior to Atlas' engines, the custom C420's from Canada, Con-Cors passenger units, etc. What layouts are out there? Articles in the mags? Models past/present produced? I would collect this info and put it on the webpage I have: http://www.trainsarefun.com/modeling/modelingmain.htm Please visit the above; as there is prototype info also. Equipment timeline, Mineola track configs, Hack restoration, paint schemes, etc. Decal Info: http://www.trainsarefun.com/modeling/lirrdecals.htm
Steve, Feel free to post the link to my LIRR Z scale layout and any photos from this link to http://www.trainsarefun.com/modeling/modelingmain.htm http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine...ng-Island-Rail-Road-in-Z-Scale&highlight=LIRR Yours, John
This video has been around for a while, but a great LIRR HO layout. I would love to see it in person! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/WZedrxj61tk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
No Door Light, please see this tutorial on how to post videos. You've got a bad URL there. Looks like you went a step farther than you needed to to get the URL. Charlie
OK, lets try again. Thank You E-8 for the tutorial, tried it before reposting and it works. Sorry about that.
I sure enjoyed seeing the lighted Fresh Pond Tower with east/west yards and the BMT and NYCRR Bridge #35! For further details on this area: http://www.trainsarefun.com/lirr/fresh pond/freshpond.htm Keep it coming...
