Would anyone have some feedback on the Lionel "Polar Express". My sister has asked me to obtain one for her son for Christmas. Looking for comments on quality etc.
I don't know about them but I saw one at JC Penney's last week and it looked cool. My 11-month old is a little young yet but I sure was itching to make the purchase. We did buy the movie for me--I mean--him.
It's Lionel - what more can you say? I know the Polar Express sets were flying off the shelves very fast last year, and eBay sellers were making a killing off them. I don't think you'll see extremely high prices on them again this year, but you might not want to wait very long, or you'll miss out. Pat
Yes sir they are flying off the shelves in Canada, with the relaease of the movie on DVD. I placed an order should be available in about two weeks.
I'm holding out for the 3D version. Don't know if they will but it's the one I saw and it wouldn't be the same in 2D.
They brought out HONDO (John Wayne) in 3D so I know there is hope but this year the 3D is back in the theaters; so maybe next year...
It's a good set with a good motor in the Berk 2-8-4. Its the same engine in the regular Berk they sell for around $215.00. Lionel added 2 new cars this year so you can have a total of 6 you pull. Its a good product and plenty of 'em in supply this year, unlike last!
The 2-8-4 Berk is a great engine. I have one on my christmas loop. With all the other stuff in the set, its a good value. Have fun. Dave
I also found a Hondo John Wayne DVD in Borders two weeks ago. I've been looking for that movie in DVD format for years. I saw the original when it was released in the 1950's. Stay cool and run steam.....
Okane: The Lionel Polar Express is a hot item. The 2-8-4 Berkshire is a good locomotive in the Lionel lineup. Hope the kids enjoy it. Stay cool and run steam.....
It's great and an inexpensive way to get the awesome 2-8-4 Berkshire. I say inexpensive because unfortunately that Berk doesn't come with Railsounds and is not TMCC compatible, etc.
