Last August we were gifted a partial 2001 Lionel Standard gauge Hiawatha (issued in 2001). The pieces were retrieved from a dumpster in Michigan and donated to us. We were short a couple of cars and had no track, etc. Thanks to the generosity of people from Michigan, Illinois, Texas, Montana, Pennsylvania and New York we now have the complete consist for the 1938 Hiawatha in standard gauge (including the double dining cars). Thanks to everyone who helped with this project. We do have for sale one locomotive (a Hudson) and the baggage/cafe car for this standard gauge set if anyone is interested.
