I have some sitting around as well. It doesn't want to mix in with the other stuff I have, mostly Aristo but I think it will probably work fine as long as you don't step on it.

Depends on what you want to use it for.
I have a bunch...not even sure how much anymore.
Some stored, some used as yard trackage in the shed, but don't use it out doors without some knowledge in advance:

Those track pins...they look like brass, right? They're not.
    Brass plated steel.
They will rust and expand like crazy.
Be prepared for repairs if you use it (and leave it) outside.

Ties: The stuff used to have outdoors ties faded pretty quick. Didn't leave it out long enough to find out if it would fail.

Joiners: No idea where to find them anymore, but you used to be able to buy compatibility joiners. I still have some in a bag.
Best I can tell you is they look like LGB joiners with the lower lock tab removed, the taped ends squared off, and right in the middle a slot cut part way down, to allow each track section into the joiner to be tightened separately.

I have some cause it came with the train that I set up under the Christmas tree each year as far as using it anywhere else I would not. True brass track will outlast this any day the Lionel track is very hard to work with not as easy to couple or uncouple and will not work well with any brass turnouts. Its more a toy then usable track.
