Good Day all here just a bit to introduce myself then to the subject I grew up in NEPA, tromping around old D&H and O&W railbeds , my family is from Starrucca and Honesdale PA . I was there when the lion replica was moved from the old building on W Park St to the Main st Historical Society building (think I have pics somewhere). I Was a junior conductor on the Stourbridge Line put allot of sweat and some blood into those old Pullman cars each summer . sorry for the long intro now to the point. You may or may not know that the Wayne Co historical Society was planning a celebration of sorts on August 8 , 2004 which would include the running of the replica down the rails among other things. the letter of announcing can be viewed here http://www.stourbridge.com/htm/lioncent.htm# I also have it as jpg file but cant figure how to post it now the last to months the board of Trustees have vote to discontinue the restoration /refurbishment process sighting ,cost - half of which has been offered by two local business men and would be divided with two other local historical societies , and lack of other than local interest in the project . If you have any interest in this or are planning to attend please relay your thoughts to : Director Wayne County Historical Society: wchs@ptd.net It appears that after giving the initial go a head some trustees are dragging their feet until it will be to late to get the required preparations done . Forest, First of all, Welcome to TrainBoard and I look forward to having more D&H fans here helping keep the D&H alive within the Fallen Flags. You will find the modelers here might not post here in the Fallen Flags section but do read these for information and enjoy the images. I had heard that Wayne County Historical Society might be doing something; but, it's good that you posted this so we can get some first hand information because as you will find, I'm in Colorado so I depend on locals such as yourself for up-to-date details and historical information. As for images, one option is to use our RailImages.com site to upload those and then they can be posted here. Being D&H related material, I'm always looking to host images on my DHVM web site and those to can be posted here as well. Let me know which way you want to go and I plus others here will help you through the process. Home of the Wayne County Historical Society Photo by Darren E. Hadley, 175th Anniversary on the D&H

Those look like first hand pics glad to see you got out there . did you take a trip on the Stourbridge Line while you were there? the BL2 used to pull it is (I have been told)1 of 2 still crossing the rails. My wife and I took a Amtrak/United Air-Rail Trip from Denver to Albany of the D&H 175 Annv. Besides being the typical "leaf-peepers", we attempted to find and photograph all the Depots that still stood in PA & NY plus tried to hit as many D&H CC spots as we could. Our time was shot so we had to move quickly so we didn;t even see the parade on the "rainy" day; but, did have time to enjoy the museum. D&H Gravity Railraod Passenger Car - Eclipse (Built 1882)
