I am installing a double crossover and while
I'm struggling with the wiring that throws the 4 switches I'd like to install a set of signal lights. My questions:
Where can I obtain double signal masts?
Which signal pertains to the straight track and which pertains to the turnout?
Do these signals vary from railroad to railroad?
    Thanks for any response.

Well, let's see here. Oregon Rail Supply, Tomar Industries, and Sunrise Enterprises all make signals, and most make a double-headed signal.

Now, the type of signal depends on the railroad. There are searchlights, position lights, regular tri-lights (like a street light).

For virtually every railroad, the top set of signals is for the straight route, and the bottom (or middle, some roads have three) is for the diverging route over the turnout.

Hope that helps get you started.

    Thanks Corey,
I'm familiar with all of them. The Long Island,
formerly a subsidiary of The Pennsylvania,
    uses the position lights.
The NYC subway system uses the 3 (traffic)
light type and I don't really know about the NYC. I would like to use a simple red and green....like the street lights.
I'll e Mail the dealers that you mentioned for more info. Thanks
