SP/SSW "Light" engine move

    Taken 1982 at SP's West Colton yard...the 10 engine "light" move is witnessed by myself...and other local railfans...whom have decided to get a closer view, then the one I had above at Pepper avenue...

    Say, what are the GE units tucked in the back of that consist?
    I see plenty of tunnel motore, and a few SD45's, but can't make the last few out.

    Probably. If you start at the near end and look at the fuel tanks, you can see the rounded EMD tanks. The first square tank is definitely a GE and all the ones after that look like GE, too. They are definitely GE at the far end. Fuel tanks are an easy way to spot the manufacturer, sometimes.

    I believe the 7th unit back appears to be a cabless GE unit.

    I believe so. That would be the one-of-a-kind B36-7 SSW7771, rebuilt after a wreck. Very rare.
